Why worksite wellness?
Employees spend about 36% of their 24-hour day at work. This makes a
worksite the perfect venue to help promote healthy behaviors and
decrease absenteeism. Over 63% of North Dakotans over the age of 16 are
in the workforce. There are almost 24,000 businesses in the state which
provide a captive audience. The Healthy People 2010 goal is to increase
to 75% the proportion of worksites that offer comprehensive employee
health.
